Testing Methods
Each submitted sample is analyzed using two complementary methods:
Automated Hematology Analysis
- Performed using 5-part differential hematology analyzer
- Provides rapid, accurate, and standardized blood cell counts and indices
Manual Microscopic Examination
- Blood smear preparation and staining
- Differential leukocyte count
- Blood cell morphology assessment
- Verification of automated results when indicated
The combination of automated and manual evaluation enhances diagnostic accuracy, particularly in samples with abnormal cell morphology or atypical hematologic findings.

- Specimen: Whole blood
- Container: EDTA (lavender/purple-top) tube
- Sample Condition: Fresh, properly mixed, and free from clots
